Gayatri Subramanian, Founder-Director of Takshashila Dance Academy, is a Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher, in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. After securing Gold Medal in BFA, she completed her MFA in Bharatanatyam in second position, with first division marks in 2010-2011, from Shri Sarfojiraje Bhosale Centre’s Bharata College of Fine Arts & Culture, Mumbai. Passionate dancer, creative choreographer and loving taskmaster, she is a constant source of inspiration to her students and also their friend, philosopher and guide.

Snigdha Menon & Shyama Balachandran, disciples of Smt. Gayatri Subramanian have been awarded Spic Macay's Gurukul Anubhav Scholarship to learn Koodiyattam from Guru Shri Margi Madhu Chakyar of Nepathya Institute for Koodiyattam in Aluva, Kerala. They will be under his able tutelage from 19th May 2016, for a period of one month. Takshashila Dance Academy wishes them all the best for this new learning experience.
